Pluto

Pluto a ball of ice and rock was discovered in 1930, and become the solar systems 9th planet, however in 2006 it was reclassified as a dwarf planet. Pluto is estimated to be 2300 km (1400 miles) in diameter, smaller than our moon and some others in our solar system, been so small was the main reason for it been reclassified

Pluto orbit is very different to the main planets, it orbit can take it nearer the sun than neptune for part of its 248 years of the sun, the surface of Pluto is thought to be frozen nitrogen which gives of gas if it temperature rises, Pluto also has 3 moons, the largest is called charon and it moves around pluto ever 6 days, the two smaller moons are called Nix and Hydra, discovered in 2005, we are still learning about them

Eris was discovered in 2003 it is made of rock and ice and has 1 moon, it takes 560 years to orbit the sun and Ceres the largest asteroid in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter Ceres was the first large asteroid to be discovered and named, it is 933km (580mile) in diameter

Haumea is reddish in colour and Makemake spins once every 4 hours and is shaped like an airship are the other dwarf planets

Eris ,Haumea and Makemake are located in the Kuiper belt
